It was the most perfect late spring engagement session, the temperature had hit the high twenties, there was sunshine, daisies and calm still ocean. Ariel and Melvin wanted an engagement location where the sea would be visible for variety in their photos, as their wedding will be taking place in an orchard. I knew just the spot! First we would wander down to the beach through a daisy field..
Not only is it a fairy-tale meadow, there was hardly a soul around this evening. Ariel and Melvin were such a pleasure to photograph and we found a gorgeous spot among the flowers just as the sun was setting beyond the tree line.
Daisies for days! I loved Ariel’s flowing feminine dress and blue topaz engagement ring.
And we were on the beach! The last dying rays of light danced on the sand and the gentle warm breeze made Vancouver Island feel like a tropical island. It was so warm in fact, that I decided to get in the water for a better vantage point. So did Ariel (I LOVE when my clients are adventurous!) and Melvin was kind enough to humor us both.
I think we can agree that it was worth it!
All of the photos in the session are a combination of medium format film, 35mm film and digital photos. Thank you Ariel and Melvin for not only a fun way to spend a hot spring evening, but for letting me play. Clients like you make my job feel like a dream!
