There is nothing like the fun and joy of your community of friends and family coming together to celebrate your love. On a warm July afternoon, Dan and Sarah exchanged vows, in their very own backyard. Everyone pitched in to make the day a success: Sarah’s brother performed the ceremony, the bride’s hair was done by her very talented 12-year-old cousin, their close friend was iPhone DJ and all the flowers came from family gardens.
“So many of our guests had a hand in getting the wedding set up and we could not be more grateful to them. Everyone was so supportive, and it seems that having that involvement and connection to the wedding really brought everybody together. This togetherness emphasized those feelings of love and happiness associated with the wedding and it created this amazing spirit throughout the day.” - Sarah
From sparklers, jars of wildflowers, bubbles and a string light-illuminated backyard, these simple touches made for the perfect atmosphere. Good food, music and beverages kept the party going, Dan and Sarah’s favorite vendors included Sea Cider who provided cider in kegs, “It was a big hit with our guests,” and Everything Wine, “They were fantastic at showing us around and picking out the right wines for the day.”
What tips do they have for future couples:
“Create the wedding you want and don’t do something just because you feel obligated to do so. It’s really easy to get caught up in all of the details and there are more “options” out there than ever before. Remember, the most important thing is the love between you and your spouse and your guests are there to celebrate you. Most people just want to laugh, dance, eat and maybe have a few drinks, in the end they’re not going to remember whether or not you had a S’more station.” - Sarah
