It was a celebration that came together thanks to the tireless efforts of parents, friends and family:
“I was devastated when it became evident that my daughter, Emily, wasn’t going to have the graduation she had dreamed of for so long; that all of her hard work and dedication in high school wasn’t going to be celebrated with her Senior Prom: the walk across the stage with gown and hat, the Awards Night and simply being with her long-time group of friends, some of whom she’s been in school with since kindergarten. I wanted to do something big to celebrate this momentous and important occasion so she knew how acknowledged she is. And I wanted this for her friends as well.” - Megan (mom and chief organizer)
Megan and her friend Stella reached out to the other parents of this group of amazing young people and organized an epic event! A Car Parade through Victoria, past their elementary, middle and high schools and this photo session in the rose garden at Government House, followed by music and food at Megan’s home. The rainy day cleared just in time for bubbles, roses and laughter!
“Our daughters looked stunning in their Prom dresses, so happy to be celebrating together and we couldn’t be prouder! I’m still emotional about it! Even the rain couldn’t dampen the celebration! Thank you Jitka for so beautifully capturing this moment - it’s one we’ll always remember! xo Megan"
