When Max reached out saying he and Emily were seeking a wedding photographer, his response to the online submission question of “What do you like about my style of photography?” was absolutely perfect as far a film aficionado wedding photographer is concerned:
“I shoot 35 mm film (and am teaching my fiancé to shoot as well) and so I was intrigued and excited when I saw that you use film cameras and edit your photos after the style of film photography.” ~ Max
For their session, Emily pictured a field setting and she and Max chose Cattle Point at Golden Hour. I brought along all three of my film cameras and it was a pleasure to chat with the couple as we waited and then proceed to chase those minutes of golden light, from field to shore!
“We loved working with Jitka because we felt like we were with a friend the whole time! As film lovers we were very excited that she shot film. We completely put our trust in her, and the pictures turned out better than we could’ve imagined!” ~ Emily
“The engagement shoot was a lot of fun, I’d call it a mini photo shoot adventure. We enjoyed our time talking and waiting for the perfect light and we got to play around with Jitka’s film camera which was awesome.” ~ Max
The couple met at the quintessential Canadian location:
“I never expected to meet someone like Max so young! So when we hit it off in a Tim Hortons of all places it’s safe to say that I was surprised. We talked one on one for maybe a minute as we were leaving and I immediately went home and messaged him on Facebook - I wanted to know more!” ~ Emily
“Emily caught my eye the first time I saw her, but I was too shy to do anything. Then I got invited to a church meeting at Tim Hortons and there was a 30 second walk with her from the Timmies to my bus and that was enough.” ~ Max
Max and Emily were an absolute dream to photograph, as their love and enthusiasm for each other was irrepressible:
“Max is truly my better half, he is the most selfless person I know (and the most handsome one too!) I still can’t believe that I get to marry him!” ~ Emily
