With the most beautiful summertime weather, Alexie contacted me to schedule a “casual outfit” session, after the couple were so thrilled with their wedding photos.
“Matt and I wanted to celebrate the unexpected time we've had together this summer before he has to return for work another eight months.” ~ Alexie
As a self-described foodie and Home Sense fan, Alexie was quick to organize the romantic picnic of her dreams. She sourced Salt Spring Island Company cheeses, local fruits, pastries and of course charcuterie among other picnic favorites. We compared our decorating inventory and found that together we had enough blankets, cushions and Alexie’s quaint bird cage, to make the perfect picnic setting!
The sun shone brightly, but in the cool comfortable shade of the park trees, by the pond, Alexie, Matt and their pup Diesel, relaxed and enjoyed the ambiance and delicious fare. Diesel begging and pleading for morsels of course!
“He takes himself so seriously but has no understanding of funny he looks.” ~ Matt
“He has the most expressive face that makes him such a lovable goofball. He has a big personality, that charms everyone. He’s my fur baby - a family photo would be incomplete if it didn't include Diesel.” ~ Alexie
As the evening wore on, the light filled with the golden glow of the fading afternoon sun, making for gorgeous couple portraits beneath the trees.
