While on their mini staycation in Victoria, in the fall of 2021, Richard organized a completely surprise proposal for Miranda.
“This was our first real trip together since meeting back in late 2019. We basically did not leave Ontario throughout the pandemic. When it was finally somewhat safe to travel, we decided to travel the furthest distance without leaving the country. I picked Victoria because not only did it seem like a beautiful city with many picturesque spots, but also because I wanted to express to Miranda that no matter how far from "home" we were, my true home will always be where she is.” ~ Richard
