It’s always a dream when a couple is so in love, that the photography process is effortless! Even more so when you are trusted as an artist - this session was captured solely on film, as the sun went down over Albert Head Lagoon, casting a magical golden light over Sarah and Blake.
“We loved how excited Jitka was about the session! She also made what could have been an awkward situation fun and comfortable. It was outdoors and in a location we both love.” - Blake
The couple met online, however little did they realize they had been destined to meet - earlier:
“We are a Bumble success story! We met online, but then realized on our first date that a mutual friend had tried to set us up with each other about six months earlier!” - Blake
For the engagement session, Blake arranged a picnic setting complete with candles, blankets, cushions and bubbly. It turns out, it was not his first time putting together such a magazine-worthy setting for Sarah:
“It was our two year anniversary and we had decided to make pizzas at home. Blake suggested we go for a walk at one of our favourite spots, Glencoe Cove. Little did I know, he had set up a beautiful lantern-lit scene on a cliff overlooking the ocean. There was champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, candles and blankets. It was stunning! Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes!” - Sarah
The couple will tie the knot next year at an intimate ceremony and I couldn’t be more excited to capture their day:
“Our wedding will be held at Mary’s Farm and Sanctuary, near Goldstream Park. It’s a sanctuary for animals and humans alike, and has a great vibe. We discovered it through playing disc golf on their 18 hole course, and once we had seen the rolling hills, beautiful trees, wonderful animals and kind people, we knew it was the right place!” Sarah + Blake
