On a still and mild late fall afternoon, Keleigh and Sean headed to East Sooke Park, for their engagement photos. One of the prettiest and relatively quiet locations in the Greater Victoria area, save for a photobombing puppy!
“We both grew up near the beach; me on the island and Sean in California and are tying the knot on a beach on the East coast of the island next summer. We knew we wanted our fall engagement pictures by the water and chose Sooke because we wanted to capture the diverse coasts of the island for our respective photos.” - Keleigh
The couple attended the same program in grad school in California, with many friends in common, as Keleigh recalls, “We officially met and first became friends when I accidentally(!) crashed Sean’s birthday party in 2013.”
Fast forward six years and Sean proposed in a beautiful garden, assisted by a video compilation of photos and clips of their friends and family from all over the world. They were all holding the same sign that he was, as he asked Keleigh to marry him, “It was like it had been passed to each of them all over Canada and the US, England, Scotland, Israel, Australia, and Kazakhstan before it got to me.”
“We have family and friends around the world and I couldn’t imagine a more perfect way to decide to get married than to feel like they were here with us in Victoria.” - Keleigh
After capturing their perfect West Coast beach photos, I asked if we could do a quick stop on the way back, to see how one of my favorite roads in Metchosin was looking in the fall. It was glowing beautifully with autumn foliage and so of course we grabbed a couple of photos there! We added a handful of vintage creative film photographs (taken with the Pentax 6x7) to round out their gallery!
