Max and Emily had the sweetest backyard wedding at the start of September, in front of their nearest and dearest!
“My dad’s backyard was the venue, we did a lot of DIYs, my maid of honor did my hair and makeup, Max wore a suit he already owned, we put together our own bouquets and got our food from a variety of random places instead of having a caterer! We both have wonderful parents who helped us with the whole day.” - Emily
The couple decided that photography and a stunning dress (custom made by My Amazing Wedding Dress) for Emily were the most important things:
“We knew that we had to prioritize photography as we are going to have these pictures forever! Max is a photographer so he was very careful when it came to choosing who was going to shoot us. We were thrilled when we found Jitka! I also chose to prioritize my dress (I wanted to feel like a princess).” - Emily
During her getting ready portion of the day, Emily received a letter from Max, with page upon page of notes:
“While I simply sent the best letter I could, Max did something unique - he sent me every single attempt that he had made at writing the “perfect” love letter. Some pages only had a few words, but sending me all of the mistakes along with his final letter was such a sweet act that really allowed me to see how much he loved me, and how much effort he was going to put into our marriage.” - Emily
The setting sun bathed the guests in a warm golden light as Emily and Max played the shoe game, cut a delicious cake from Lighthouse Cake Company and were given a eucalyptus leaf sendoff! The couple then headed to Cadboro Bay Beach for their final portraits in the beautiful pastel twilight.
The best part of the day?
“Watching my beautiful wife-to-be walk down the aisle and saying “I do”. The shoe game and cake were fun too.” - Max
“Everything about the day was perfect! Finally getting to marry the love of my life was definitely the highlight though.” - Emily
