Keeping with a cherished family tradition, Brittany and Ben were married in front of some 200 friends and family at St. Leopold Church, in Victoria B.C., on a September 21, 2019. Neither the groom nor the bride are particularly religious, but it was important to Brittany’s family for the couple to get married in the Croatian Church.

Staying true to their laid-back personalities, the decor was simple rustic west-coast style with driftwood - including a driftwood wedding arch - and pebbles that were all returned to their location following the ceremony. “We both love the ocean and outdoors, and actually got engaged close by. Rose Gold is Jessica’s favorite colour and red is Mat's so the couple found that these colours worked well together. The decor was full of DYI details of geo shapes with tones of burgundy, wine, blush, rose gold and navy blue, which the whole family chipped in to bring to fruition.

The wedding theme was "romantic west coast" - with light and peachy pinks and navy blue as the base colours, to compliment the forest greens. Growing up, both Matt and Breezy spent a lot of time camping and hiking, so were both drawn to having their ceremony in the forest and building their wedding theme around the setting.

The last dying rays of light danced on the sand and the gentle warm breeze made Vancouver Island feel like a tropical island. It was so warm in fact, that I decided to get in the water for a better vantage point. So did Ariel (I LOVE when my clients are adventurous!) and Melvin was kind enough to humor us both.
